Oregon has wonderful varied scenery, from the high semi-desert of Baker County, through the powerful Columbia River Gorge, to the lush Pacific Ocean.
The reasons for the rails remains consistent though: moving log from forests to sawmills and industrial centres. The trees may be largely gone but some of the lines survive.
